The X-1 Generation is a non partisan campaign aimed at motivating and encouraging youths to effectively participate in the electoral processes.
The campaign is coordinated by the ERC in collaboration with a youth organizations who, invariably are involved in democracy and governance initiatives and have presence in various districts around Zimbabwe.
Who is a First Time Voter?
The X1 Generation specifically targets to engage and assist the following youths of 18-35 years;
- Young people who are reaching voting age and therefore are facing their first opportunity to vote,
- Youths who have been disenfranchised (for example because of lack of citizenship or conviction) in previous elections and subsequently are enfranchised.
- Young women and men who, having not voted previously despite being enfranchised, choose to vote.
